Datasets are connections to data sources that you can reuse for multiple metrics. When you set up a dataset, we continually update the data so that you always have your data available for building metrics.
Here’s how to build a dataset in Grow.
First, log in to your Grow account and press Add Metric. (If you are given two options, select the New Metric Builder.)
This will bring you to a page that lists all the datasets that you have access to. You can either choose to build a metric from an existing dataset, or you can create a new dataset.
To create a new dataset, click the
+ New Dataset button in the upper right-hand corner.
You’ll be brought to a page that lists the available integrations. You can either scroll through the list or search for a data source using the search bar.
Once you select your data source, you will need to authorize your account. If someone has already connected to a datasource and shared that connection with you, those accounts will appear in the “Authorization” drop-down field for you to use.
To connect a new account, press Add New Auth from the drop-down list.
Each API is a little bit different, so authorizing your account may look a little different for each data source. If you need help on connecting, check out the articles in our help center on connecting your data.
Once you have authorized your account, select the report configuration options you want to use, and press the blue “Connect to (Data Source)” button at the bottom of the page.
Once you’ve done that, your data will show up on the right side of the screen. Go ahead and give your dataset a name and press the blue Save Dataset button.
And that’s it!
