Box is a simple, secure, cloud based file sharing and collaboration service that allows you to access your files from anywhere. Here are some things you can expect from the Box/Grow integration.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Here's what you can expect from the Box integration.

  • API is slow pulling data. Box’s API limits how many calls to their API a user can make, so pulling data into a warehouse might be a little slow.
  • Syncing Files: Make sure that the files you want to use in your Grow metrics are synced folders in Box. If they aren't, your metrics won't automatically reflect changes made to the Box file. 
  • Make sure your sheets are formatted correctly. Find some helpful tips on spreadsheet formatting in Grow here.
  • Uniquely Named Headers. If there isn’t a unique column header, we can’t add the data to your dataset. 
  • Supported File Formats: XLS, XLSX, XLSM, and CSV. If you're looking to use JSON or XML files, Grow can pull those in, but we suggest converting to a CSV first. 
  • Size Limits: Most files must be smaller than 15 MB in order to successfully pull them into Grow. Under some extenuating circumstances, our support teams can make exceptions for Box files up to 50 MB. You can learn more here.
  • One sheet per dataset: For Excel-based files, you can select 1 sheet at a time. So if you have an Excel doc with multiple sheets, you need to create a dataset for each sheet. 

REPORTS
Instead of having set endpoints that you can pull from, Box lets you pull in the files you have hosted on Box. This can be useful if you have exported files from platforms that may not yet have an integration with Grow. Whenever the Box data files are updated, your metrics will automatically update to reflect the change.
