Tracking Goal Conversions in Google Analytics can be tricky. Here is how you do it.

First we need to find the number of the goal we want to track. You can find that by signing into Google Analytics. Pick the site which has the goal, then navigate to Admin, then Goals.

You will see the goals you have set up. Leave this page open or just write down the number or id of the goal. For example, the important number for Goal ID 3 is 3.

Next, log in to Grow and add a new metric. Once you have connected your Google Analytics account, add a new custom metric.

Press the blue Metrics button and select the goal completion metric. You will notice that all the Goal Metrics have an XX instead of the actual Goal number. So we just need to type out (manually type out, you can't edit the inserted values) ga:goal1Conversions and it will work great.

So if you want to trackGoal ID 3, replacing the XX with 3, ga:goalXXCompletions would become ga:goal3Completions

Here is a quick video showing the full process.
