OneDrive for Business makes it easy for your teams to manage and share your documents and work together in real time on any device. This article will give you an overview of the OneDrive Business/Grow integration.

Here are some key things you can expect from the OneDrive integration.

  • Pulling Sharepoint files: Grow does not have an integration with Sharepoint. You can, however, pull your Sharepoint files into Grow through the OneDrive Business integration. Find out more on how to do that here.
  • Size Limits: Most files must be smaller than 15 MB in order to successfully pull them into Grow. Under some extenuating circumstances, our support teams can make exceptions for files up to 50 MB. 
  • Make sure your sheets are formatted correctly. Find some helpful tips on spreadsheet formatting in Grow here.
  • Supported File Formats: XLS, XLSX, XLSM, and CSV. Note: JSON and XML files can be used but that file format, usually in not going to be structured in a way that converts nicely to a table. So converting JSON to a CSV is usually preferred. Your Data Consultant can help you know what to do here.
  • One sheet per dataset. For Excel-based files, you can select 1 sheet at a time. So if you have an Excel doc with multiple sheets, you need to create a dataset for each sheet. 
  • Uniquely Named Headers. If there isn’t a unique column header, we can’t add the data to your dataset.

Instead of having set endpoints that you can pull from, OneDrive Business lets you pull in the files you have hosted in your OneDrive enterprise/business/institution account. This can be useful if you have exported files from platforms that may not yet have an integration with Grow. Whenever the data files in OneDrive Business are updated, your metrics will automatically update to reflect the change.
