The Enable 2-Value Axes tool is an important tool when mashing up different data sets with drastically different scales. If I pull one variable of my data into the platform with numbers in the thousands, that is not going to look very good next to my other variable that is showing me a percentage. For this purpose, we have added the Enable 2-Value Axes feature so that you can still see the different variables on the same metric.
To do so, bring at-least two data series onto the metric, and then click the three dot menu for one of your data series From here you are able to enable 2-Value Axes by clicking the Assign Data Series to drop down and selecting whether you would like to assign the data series to either the right or left axis. Once you have assigned one data series to the left axis and one to the right axis then you will see that 2-Value Axes is enabled. You will see that the left side and the right side of the metric each have unique scales associated with their data sets. The title and number formatting of each axis is controlled by the first data series assigned to the specific axis location.
On "Bar" and "Bar & Line" chart types, instead of assigning a data series to a the left or right axis you will assign the data series to the bottom or top axis. You also must have at least one data series assigned to the left axis or bottom axis (Bar and Bar & Line charts).
Charts That Support 2-Value Axes
You can use this feature on any series-type chart, except for any of the the stacked-column type charts with the exception of the "Stack Column & Line" chart. The chart types below in green support this feature:
The "Stacked Column & Line" chart type works differently than other chart types. Any data series type that is assigned as a column will be assigned to the same axis. If the axis location is changed for one column data series type, it is changed all column data series type to match the changed axis location.
