The new time zone selection feature allows metrics to stay in their filtered period until that time zone's midnight actually occurs.
Migrating Metrics and Dashboards to New Timezone
If you are already using SQL to circumvent the issue of the early resets, all you will need to do is erase any part of the query that is offsetting the "datetime" column and just apply filters and transforms as normal.
You will no longer need to use SQL to generate columns to filter on within Grow.
If you have your time zone selected on the account level, all is well! (If you don't have access to set your account's time zone, talk to the admin on your Grow account.)
