In Prophet 21, follow these steps to connect to your P21 instance.
- Whitelist ALL our IP addresses.
- 52.203.193.180
- 52.0.63.147
- 18.209.80.4
- 13.42.173.220
- Collect the Host (Valid IP or Public URL), Port (usually 1433), and Database Name for your Database.
- Create a user in your Database (preferably read only) with the PXXI user Role Permission (access to run stored procedures).
Creating the Connection in Grow
- Log in to Grow.
- Navigate to the Data Tab in the top left corner.
- Click Connections on the far left.
- Select the blue circle + Connect button.
- Search for and select Prophet21. Then click the Connect to Prophet21 button.
- Choose a name for your Connection. This can be anything, but we recommend something you’ll recognize if you choose to connect multiple P21 instances.
- Add in your Database Host, Port, and Database Name, as well as the Username and Password of the user you just created.
- Click Connect.
Troubleshooting
If you are on version 22.2 or higher, and the connection is made successfully, but the warehoused tables you see are “dbo” tables, then the user you’ve connected with doesn’t have the right permissions to run stored procedures. You’ll need to change the permissions on the user to see the tables required for the pre-built content.
