Here's a trick I put together in a past job where I wanted to add a little more detail to our metrics that were tracking our monthly sales and lead generation. Just a goal line didn't help at the beginning of the month when you wanted to see the pacing to reach the goal.
Since our inside sales team wasn't actively working over the weekend, I made a Google Sheet that would calculate how many weekdays there were in month and divide up the monthly goal by that number. Then I added a cumulative sum column to show what that pace would be when taking weekends off.
Access the Google Sheet here. You will need to go to "File > Make a Copy..." in order to save it to your account and use it in Grow.
All you need to do is edit the fields highlighted in yellow to get the goal values, and then use this Google Sheet as a report in Grow to add the data to a metric.
When I used this in the past I also added some calculations in Grow to use as a key value that would adapt the daily goal as the month progressed to reflect the progress to the goal. In other words, if the sales team wasn't meeting the forecasted daily goals, that would mean they would need to get higher numbers each day to still meet the goal. So I would divide the difference between the MTD sales and the final goal by the remaining number of days to get the new daily goal, and I used that as a key value.
