Building Stacked Column 100% Charts

A Stacked Column 100% chart is handy for comparing performance over time when you have different parts to track, among other things. This article will give you an overview of how to use a stacked column 100% chart.

Use Cases

In many instances, the stacked column 100% chart functions like a pie chart, but with date ranges. It is frequently used to show breakdowns of a metric over time. Here are some other specific use cases we have seen. Feel free to use these ideas or manipulate them to fit your own data.

Leads by Source Over Time. For your leads each week or month, you can have a 100% stacked column show you the breakdown of how many leads came from which source.

NPS Score Over Time. Track the number of people who fall into each NPS category (promoter, neutral, or detractor) month over month. If you have a cohort model, you could also track it by cohort. You could also tweak this to show the top reasons people cancelled a subscription with your business.

Building a stacked column 100% chart

To build a stacked column 100% chart, first log in to your Grow account and click Add Metric. Choose your data source, connect your data, and press continue.

In Edit Metric, with the chart button selected at the top, click on the chart type menu to view the list of charts. Go ahead and select Stacked Column 100% Chart.

Next, you will need to select your data series. When you select data series for a stacked column, the first series will be the lowest in the column, or closest to the x-axis. Each subsequent data series will be stacked on top of the first.

Once you have selected your data series, you can format each series.

Finally, be sure to add chart labels and key values to your metric.
